Marilyn Ezzard

Posted May 1, 2026 | 9:50 AM

December 3, 1943 – April 13, 2026

Marilyn Ezzard of Kamloops, B.C., passed away on April 13, 2026, at 82 years of age.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ken Ezzard, children Sherry Ezzard, Darrel Brownlee, Brent Ezzard and Nichole Annis, all of Kamloops, B.C. Grandchildren Hunter Reid (Hailey Weymouth), Avery Reid, Kelsey Reid, Kenya Reid, Robin Ezzard (Raj), Molly Vanderhoek (Justin), and Lily Ezzard, her brothers and sisters David Russell, Evelyn Russell, Susan Russell, Lesley Schindel (Doug) and David Kelcey.

Marilyn was predeceased by her brother Jim Russell in 2001.

Marilyn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 3, 1943. She was raised in Swan River, Manitoba where she graduated from Swan River High School. She went to the Manitoba School in Portage La Prairie to be a psychiatric nurse and graduated from nursing in 1964. It was on Main Street and Saskatchewan Avenue in Portage La Prairie where Marilyn caught the eye of Ken Ezzard, and they were married on October 3, 1964. They both worked at the Brandon Mental Hospital for a couple of years and decided to leave Brandon for greener (warmer) pastures and moved to Kamloops in 1966.

Marilyn worked at Tranquille for a number of years. She applied and became one of the first psychiatric nurses at Royal Inland Hospital. She then left RIH to raise her children and help Ken grow their successful insurance business. She loved to stay active. No moss under those feet. She was always very organized and loved working with numbers and balancing everything. She enjoyed volunteering at the Kamloops Summer Swim Club back in the day. She held a number of positions with the club and enjoyed driving the motorhome to swim meets though she probably didn’t enjoy driving for 6:00 a.m. practices.

She enjoyed playing business girls’ golf for a number of years, all while working full time. In retirement, Marilyn and Ken enjoyed cruising and traveling. They spent a lot of winters in Mesa, Arizona golfing and spending time with many good friends. Marilyn adored her seven grandchildren and spent as much time as she could with them.

Right until the end Marilyn’s person was always Ken. They built and enjoyed a beautiful life together. Xxoo

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Westsyde Landing – formerly known as The Hamlets. Memorial donations may be made to: Walk for Alzheimer’s Kamloops May 31, 2026. This is the link to the fundraising page for The Walk to Alzheimer’s:
