Boston Bar-area fire being held at 53ha

BOSTON BAR, B.C. — A wildfire skirting the Trans Canada Highway near Boston Bar is now being held.

In an update posted during the noon hour Wednesday (April 29), the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says the 53-hectare Ferrabee fire south of Boston Bar is not expected to grow beyond its established borders.

The fire was discovered last Thursday on the east side of the highway, just south of Hell’s Gate.

As of Wednesday morning, about 23 ground firefighters were working on site, supported by aircraft.
