KAMLOOPS — A new partner has appeared at the City of Kamloops’ annual surplus auction

In a post to social media, the city says Thompson Rivers University will offer bookstore fixtures such as carts, displays, office furniture, mini fridges and shelving during the four-day auction.

The annual online auction of surplus and recovered items began in 2022 as a way for the city to free up space in storage facilities and put funds in reserves while allowing residents a chance to search for lost or stolen items.

The city says the auction features several unclaimed items acquired by its staff and the Kamloops RCMP detachment. Residents searching for lost or stolen items are encouraged to attend the in-person viewing at McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre’s curling rink between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from Thursday, May 7 to Saturday, May 9, and between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 10.
