Counterfeit $100 bills used in fraudulent ATV purchase: 100 Mile RCMP
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP in 100 Mile House are alerting the public following the fraudulent purchase of an ATV.
On Tuesday (April 28), 100 Mile House RCMP say they received a report of a seller who had posted an ATV for sale who met with a buyer who provided several thousand dollars in the form of $100 bills.
In a news release, police say the seller then attempted to deposit the cash at their bank where it was discovered that the $100 bills were counterfeit.
A name of the buyer was not provided to police but they’re described as a man who was in the company of a woman. They were driving an older white Ford F-350 with Alberta license plates.
