A Los Angeles judge rejected Cher’s petition for temporary conservatorship over her son Elijah Blue Allman, ruling the 79-year-old singer failed to demonstrate “sufficient urgency.” Allman, 49, participated in the hearing via video from a psychiatric facility. The case was dismissed without prejudice, allowing Cher to refile. She sought legal control over her son’s finances, fearing he would “immediately” waste his inheritance from late father Gregg Allman’s trust when he gains access May 1st. Elijah suffered a drug overdose in June, though Cher had filed for conservatorship 18 months earlier. The son of the deceased Allman Brothers rocker faces criminal charges in New Hampshire including simple assault, trespassing, and disorderly conduct following alleged school and home break-in incidents. A June 16th court date is scheduled.
