Goldeneyes finish inaugural season with 4-3 overtime win over Frost
VANCOUVER — Defenceman Sophie Jaques scored at 1:24 of overtime to give the Vancouver Goldeneyes a 4-3 Women’s Professional Hockey League victory over the Minnesota Frost on Saturday.
Jaques took a pass from Hannah Miller and fired a shot over goaltender Marlene Boissonnault’s shoulder for her ninth goal of the season.
The Goldeneyes, who wrapped up their inaugural season finishing seventh in the eight-team league, entered the third period ahead 3-1.
Kelly Pannek and Klara Hymlarova scored third-period goals for the Frost to tie the game and force overtime.
