KAMLOOPS — The CFJC Boogie the Bridge goes Sunday (April 26), beginning from Riverside Park.

Organizer Jo Berry says participants are entered in runs and walks of different distances – ranging from five kilometres to 21 kilometres.

“This year, we’ve upped the ante in the parking lot party. We have food trucks, Handsome Lou on the main stage, rocking out, 12 bands on the course, three cheer stations,” said Berry.

Expo for Boogie the Bridge is being held Friday and Saturday at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre.

Berry says those who aren’t participating can still help out by supporting the runners – and by staying patient about the traffic disruptions.

“The bridge still has two lanes of traffic going through on one side but it is slower. There are a few road closures on the North Shore – but it’s three hours, once a year,” said Berry. “Most of the streets are open. You just have to be patient. Honk, cheer and put your hands out the window – Woohoo!”

Participants are asked to gather at Riverside Park early on Sunday. Start times are at 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., depending on the event length.
