August 29, 1941 — April 6, 2026
Arline Ethel Taylor passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2026 at the age of 84. A cherished Aunt, Great-Aunt, neighbour and friend, she will be remembered for her strength, knowledge, sage advice, fierceness, and unwavering independence.
Born in 1941, Arline spent over 70 years of her life on Fernie Road where she witnessed the evolution of the area and steadfastly kept an immaculate property. Belovingly known as “Auntie Arline” she was joined in the neighbourhood by an additional 16 Taylors, spread over 4 generations and 6 households. A true pillar she was among the first and the very last Taylor residing on Fernie Road. Her brother Brian remains nearby within the family footprint, at the childhood playground gravel pit.
Arline was predeceased by her parents Ted and Grace Taylor, her brother Jim Taylor, and sister Beverly Ready.
Known for her meticulous nature, Arline found joy in gardening, oil and porcelain painting, crocheting, and her beloved pets. She dedicated her professional career to the City of Kamloops where she was known for her diligence and integrity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as the Matriarch of Fernie Road. Each spring, the blooming of Jolly Jump-Up flowers will serve as a lasting tribute to her memory.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the BC Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at the Sandman Signature Hotel Friday May 8th from 2:30-4:30pm.
