PRITCHARD, B.C. — RCMP say one person is in custody after a significant police presence in the Pritchard area Tuesday morning (April 21).

In a news release, police say officers from the Chase detachment were called in around 9:00 a.m. following reports that a suspect who may have had a gun was making threats, but they did not release any details.

The Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) was called in to help, and police say the suspect surrendered without incident after several hours.

“I would like to thank the South East District Emergency Response Team, Crisis Negotiator Team, Air Services, and Kamloops RCMP for their assistance during this incident,” Chase RCMP Sgt. Stephen Newport said.
