‘We are on budget and on track’; Build Kamloops Committee receives PAC update
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Centre for the Arts is still on time and on budget according to a update presented to the Build Kamloops Committee on Monday (April 13) afternoon.
Work on the building’s substructure including foundations is underway, with the city dealing with expected challenges around the old Kamloops Daily News building’s foundation and underground utilities.
“We’ve made some significant strides there and moved 5,000 cubic metres of earth as of Friday,” said Kamloops’ Infrastructure Delivery Divisional Manager Matt Kachel. “Site works are underway. We are dealing with underground utilities but we knew that and had built that into our risk register and plan. Everything is still on track. A site like this is not without its challenges but everything is still going to plan, no significant issues to report. We are on budget and on track.”
