Injured dirt biker airlifted from remote area near Duffy Lake
KAMLOOPS — A dirt biker was airlifted and sent to hospital after a crash near Duffy Lake southwest of Kamloops.
Kamloops Search and Rescue says 13 of its members were called out at around 2:20 p.m. Monday (April 13). In a post to social media Tuesday, KSAR says members hiked nearly three kilometres over challenging terrain to reach the dirt biker.
With the help from a paramedic and RCMP medic, KSAR says the dirt biker was assessed, stabilized and treated shortly after 5:15 p.m. However, due to the location of the crash and the terrain surrounding it, a rescue helicopter was requested out of Vernon.
