Pritchard neighbours forced to share water service via garden hose following main break
PRITCHARD, B.C. — While water service was technically restored for 36 properties in Pritchard that were impacted by a water main break heading into Easter long weekend, one resident is depending on her neighbour and her trusty garden hose.
Tammy Peltier, who lives on Gerella Road in Pritchard, told CFJC Today her property doesn’t have access to water through its own line. A water main break on April 1 served as an unsolicited April Fools joke as up to five feet of water shot up on the edge of her property.
After the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) completed emergency repair work at the Pritchard Community Water System on Thursday (April 2), Peltier says district staff asked her neighbour if he would share his water while her service was still unavailable.
