Ticket sales open for ‘West Coast Contemporary’ Y Dream Home in Juniper Ridge

KAMLOOPS — Tickets are officially on sale for the Kamloops Y Dream Home lottery and 50-50 draw. The 30th year of the event sees the dream home built in Juniper Ridge up for grabs, along with 30 additional prizes to honour the anniversary.

Valued above $1.3 million, the dream home along Coldwater Drive could soon be yours.

“We will start our open houses next weekend. We will give everybody an opportunity to enjoy Easter and get out with their family and do that,” said Bryce Herman. “But then next weekend, we want you coming here and coming to see what we have going on because we have lots of great stuff happening.”

The lottery and 50-50, which can grow as large as $1.5 million this year, serves as the biggest fundraising event of the year for the Kamloops Y.

“It’s made a big difference in what has been able to be done,” added Herman. “Delivery of programs, build out of the location at 400 Battle Street, it built the second floor. It put in things that are not quite as visible, but things like fire suppression systems, that kind of thing, which would have been insurmountable for the organization. This has been the lifeblood for many, many years.”

The latest dream home, styled as West Coast Contemporary, brings in some old-school design choices.

“Some of it is a little bit of a throwback. I look at this with the fireplace and the wood paneling, which of course is all tongue and groove… but at the end of the day, that wood feature is a bit of a ’70s throwback. But it’s really done with a lot of the new fit and finish that’s throughout,” said Herman.

Tickets are available now and will remain on sale until June 17 ahead of the draw.
