100 Mile House emergency department to temporarily close for seventh time in March
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — After averting its 12th temporary closure of 2026 late last week, the emergency department in 100 Mile House may not be as fortunate Monday (March 30) night.
Interior Health says emergency services at 100 Mile District General Hospital will be unavailable from 7:00 p.m. Monday to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday (March 31).
Residents in need of emergency care will be rerouted to Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, an hour’s drive away from 100 Mile House, during this 13-hour temporary closure. However, inpatient services will continue at 100 Mile District General Hospital during that time.
A temporary 13-hour closure was planned for the 100 Mile emergency department on Friday (March 27), although Interior Health announced the night prior it had secured staff coverage to avoid the shutdown.
