WESTWOLD, B.C. — Police were able to track down a trio of suspects in a rural break and enter near Westwold.

At around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday (March 24), Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say they received a report of a break and enter in progress at a house on Douglas Lake Road.

Police say the property owner received an alert from their security system, then checked video surveillance which showed two people hop a fence, cut a lock, and enter a building on the property. That homeowner then provided police with descriptions of the suspects as well as their vehicle.

“A BC Highway Patrol officer in the area located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop with it,” the statement from the RCMP said. “The occupants were arrested, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of stolen property, which was returned to the owner.”
