KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada is predicting winds gusting up to 80 km/h on Tuesday evening (March 24) for much of the Thompson-Nicola region.
The Special Weather Statement also extends to the Coquihalla Highway, and parts of the Okanagan and the Fraser Valley.
Forecasters said the winds could cause power outages and push around high-sided vehicles.
“A vigorous low pressure system will track across the B.C. Interior on Tuesday. Strong southwesterly winds gusting to 80 km/h will develop late Tuesday afternoon and peak in the evening,” said Environment Canada.
