100 Mile House emergency department closed Monday

100 MILE HOUSE — The 100 Mile House General Hospital’s emergency department will be closed for the fifth time this month on Monday (March 23).

Interior Health said the emergency department will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and patients should to access urgent care at the Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake in the meantime.

“All other inpatient services will continue at 100 Mile District General Hospital,” said Interior Health officials.

“People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.”

This is the eighth ER closure in 100 Mile House since mid-February, and the fifth this month. If the ER reopens as scheduled, the emergency department in 100 Mile House will have closed for 142 hours this year.
