Netflix Brings ‘Stranger Things’ Animated Spinoff To Theaters Before Streaming Debut Category Icon

Netflix is partnering with AMC Theatres to preview the new animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 in select cinemas before its streaming release. The first two episodes, totaling 55 minutes, will screen April 18th at noon and 3 PM in 34 AMC theaters across 20 states, plus Netflix’s Paris Theater in New York and Netflix House in Philadelphia. The full season debuts on Netflix five days later, April 23rd. Set in winter 1985 between seasons two and three, the show follows Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max as they face a new terrifying threat. Tickets go on sale today. This theatrical preview is smaller than the main series finale’s 600-theater run that earned $20-25 million.
