Blazers clinch first WHL playoff berth since 2022-23 season
KAMLOOPS — Playoff hockey will be returning to Sandman Centre for the first time in three seasons.
The Blazers punched their ticket to the postseason Sunday (March 15) after the WHL-leading Everett Silvertips beat the Portland Winterhawks 8-5. The result means Portland (29-30-6-1) will finish with a maximum of 69 points, while the Blazers (29-24-7-5) currently have 70 points.

Kamloops is the sixth Western Conference team to clinch a playoff berth, with three teams – Portland, the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Victoria Royals – vying for the final two spots. The Blazers are in sixth place, but both the Thunderbirds (28-27-6-4) and the Royals (28-28-6-3) can pass them in the standings.
