WolfPack claw back in five sets loss to St. Mary’s Huskies at volleyball nationals
LANGLEY, B.C. — The best ever season in Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack women’s volleyball history has come to an end on the second day of U SPORTS nationals.
The seventh-seeded WolfPack clawed their way out of a two-set deficit, but they couldn’t complete the comeback as they dropped a 3-2 (25-17, 25-16, 21-25, 13-25, 15-12) decision to the St. Mary’s Huskies at the Langley Events Centre Saturday (March 14) afternoon.
The sixth-seeded Huskies tallied the final three points of the final set to earn a spot in Sunday’s 5th/6th place game. They’ll play the winner of the other consolation semi-final between the UBC Thunderbirds and the Montreal Carabins.
Rida Erlalelitepe led the way once again for the WolfPack with 16 kills, while Keira Gent added 13. Libby Meldrum had a game-high 47 assists as well as a game-high 11 digs in the loss.
