100 Mile House emergency room to close again on Saturday

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The emergency room in the Mile House will reopen overnight Friday (March 13) but it will close again this weekend.

Interior Health says the ER at the 100 Mile House District General Hospital will be closed for 13 hours between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Saturday (March 14). It is currently in the midst of a 13 hour closure, which is scheduled to end at 8:00 p.m.

“All other inpatient services will continue at 100 Mile House District General Hospital,” Interior Health said, in a statement.

Saturday’s ER closure will be the eighth in 100 Mile House this year and the sixth in the last four weeks dating back to Feb. 16.

As has been the case for previous emergency room closures, Interior Health says people should call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.
