Lil Nas X Seeks Diversion Program In His Police Battery Case
Lil Nas X appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday (March 12) as his attorney requested a delay to file for entry into a diversion program in his felony police battery case. The Grammy winner, born Montero Hill, faces three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, carrying up to five years in prison if convicted. Hill was arrested August 21, 2025, after allegedly walking in traffic on Ventura Boulevard wearing only his underwear. Prosecutors claim he assaulted three responding officers during his arrest. Outside the Van Nuys courthouse, Hill told reporters, “All I wanted to say is to my fans. I really love, and I miss you, and I appreciate your support so much, and I can’t wait to be back hugging you guys.” His lawyer Christy O’Connor said she’s awaiting an “expert report” to support the diversion motion. The case returns to court April 6.
