Kate Winslet is negotiating to star in Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum alongside Andy Serkis, who directs while reprising his Gollum role. The project reunites Winslet with Peter Jackson, who helmed her 1994 film Heavenly Creatures. Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed casting, though Elijah Wood and Ian McKellen reportedly may return as Frodo and Gandalf. The story takes place between The Hobbit and Fellowship Of The Ring. Scheduled for December 17th, 2027 theatrical release, the film continues Warner Bros.’ lucrative Middle-earth franchise.
