Oscars Announces Musical Tributes For ‘Sinners,’ ‘KPop Demon Hunters’
The 98th Academy Awards will feature sweeping musical tributes to Ryan Coogler’s vampire drama Sinners, which holds the all-time Oscar nomination record, and Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, which became a global sensation. The KPop Demon Hunters segment will open with traditional Korean instrumentalists and dance, followed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Reri Ami performing the nominated song “Golden.” The Sinners tribute explores music as narrative device, featuring breakout star Miles Caton and Oscar-nominated songwriter Raphael Saadiq performing “I Lied to You.” Their ensemble will include Misty Copeland, Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Brittany Howard, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jayme Lawson, Li Jun Li, Bobby Rush, Shaboozey and Alice Smith. Josh Groban and Los Angeles Master Chorale will also appear. The Oscars air live on ABC this Sunday.
