KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers have released the latest iteration of a limited-edition Kami The Fish jersey, which they’ll wear during next weekend’s home game against the Kelowna Rockets.

The Blazers will once again rebrand as the Thompson River Fighting Trout, and this year’s game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off to support the Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce. Bids can be made online between 9:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12 and 9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22.

“The Kamloops & District Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to be partnering with the Kamloops Blazers to bring back the Thompson Rivers Fighting Trout in 2026, when the Chamber is also celebrating its 130 anniversary of serving the region’s business community,” Chamber executive director Acacia Pangilinan said in a statement.

“What better way to celebrate than with new Kami the Fish merchandise.”

On game night (March 14), fans will also be able to buy limited-edition Fighting Trout merchandise in the Blazers Corner Store. The Chamber of Commerce will also be selling selling exclusive Kami the Fish merchandise on the Sandman Centre concourse.

Kami the Fish, also known as Kami the Trout or Spoolmak Trout, made its debut in 1967 as a gun-toting mascot designed to attract vacationers to Kamloops. The Chamber of Commerce still owns the design and it has numerous other Kami the Fish-themed merchandise for sale as well.

In last year’s game, the Fighting Trout emerged victorious in their battle against the Ogopogo by a 4-1 scoreline.
