Whundas senior boys fall in basketball provincial quarter-finals

LANGLEY — The Westsyde Whundas senior boys basketball team will not bring home the 2A BC School Sports Provincial Championship.
The No. 9 ranked Whundas fell to the No. 1 ranked Notre Dame Jugglers of Vancouver Thursday (March 5) night in Langley 91-82.
The quarter-final matchup was tight at halftime with the Whundas trailing the Jugglers 43-40. However, a 24-14 third quarter gave the Jugglers enough of a cushion to secure the victory and punch their ticket to the semifinals.
Jacob McKearney and Jaren Porter led the Whundas in scoring with 27 and 24 points, respectively.
