RIH Foundation secures anonymous donor to match up to $200,000 in Radiothon donations

KAMLOOPS — This Thursday (March 5) is the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation’s annual Radiothon, taking place from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., broadcasting on B100 from the atrium of the Gaglardi Tower.

It will be a tough task to surpass last year’s record-breaking day that helped raise more than $650,000 for the foundation.

To help start 2026 with a bang, the foundation has an anonymous sponsor set to match donations for the first $200,000.

“We are highlighting women’s health this year but we are still supporting priority healthcare needs at Royal Inland Hospital,” said Macy MacDonald, RIH Foundation event coordinator. “All the money is going to stay right here in our community, supporting health care.”

Throughout the day, stories from doctors, nurses and patients will be shared across CFJC Today’s platforms, including B100 and Midday, to help inspire people to donate to the cause. On Thursday, people can donate by calling in or visiting the foundation’s website.

“This, I would say, is our biggest community event. It really does involve everybody. It brings everybody together from our whole entire region,” said MacDonald. “Definitely our biggest fundraiser of the year.”
