Cranbrook RCMP operation in Kamloops puts OLPH and RIH on hold-and-secure
KAMLOOPS — Police placed Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) and a North Shore school in separate hold-and-secure protocols as they arrested a suspect with outstanding warrants earlier this week.
A notable police presence at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School was reported by witnesses at around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 25).
In an email to CFJC Today, spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano with the RCMP’s E Division says Cranbrook RCMP, with help from the Southeast District Crime Reduction Units and the Kamloops detachment, carried out a planned operation to arrest the individual.
The suspect was arrested without incident. Urano says a school in the area of the arrest was placed on hold-and-secure out of an abundance of caution.
