Hilary Duff has responded to Ashley Tisdale‘s viral essay from January about leaving a “toxic” mom group that social media sleuths linked to Duff. During an appearance on Wednesday’s (Feb. 25) episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Duff said she “felt really sad” and “taken aback” by Tisdale’s piece in The Cut, where Ashley wrote that the other moms made her feel “left out” and like she was “back in high school.” “It sucks to read something that’s not true, and it sucks on behalf of, like, six women and all of their lives,” Duff told host Alex Cooper. She added “the timing felt not great, and I felt used,” suggesting the essay coincided with her musical comeback. When asked if she wanted to clarify any of Tisdale’s claims, Duff simply said “Nope.” Her new album, Luck … or Something, was released February 20, with a world tour launching in May. (Billboard)
