Netflix has cast McKenna Grace as young Daphne Blake in its upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo series, which explores how Mystery Inc. first formed. The eight-episode show, greenlit in March 2025, follows old friends Shaggy and Daphne during their final summer at camp as they investigate a supernatural murder involving a Great Dane puppy witness. They team with pragmatic Velma and newcomer Freddy to solve the mystery threatening to expose their secrets. Grace previously voiced young Daphne in 2020’s animated Scoob! The last live-action adaptation was the 2002 film starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar, which grossed over $250 million.
