Britney Spears has sold ownership rights of her complete music catalog to Primary Wave, multiple sources have confirmed to Rolling Stone. The deal, which was reportedly inked back on December 30, includes Spears’ hits like “… Baby One More Time,” “Oops! … I Did It Again,” “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Lucky,” and “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.” Financial terms remain undisclosed, but sources indicate the agreement matches Justin Bieber‘s reported $200 million catalog sale to Hipgnosis Songs Capital in 2023. Primary Wave has previously acquired catalogs from a series of major artists including The Notorious B.I.G., Whitney Houston, Bob Marley, Prince, Cars leader Ric Ocasek, and Stevie Nicks. Spears, freed from her 13-year conservatorship in 2021, last released a studio album in 2016 with Glory. She recently collaborated with Elton John on “Hold Me Closer” in 2022 and will.i.am on “Mind Your Business” in 2023.
