KAMLOOPS — A mineral exploration company based in northwestern B.C. is planning to drill on a mining property within the Kamloops Mining Division.

Decade Resources announced Tuesday (Feb. 10) drilling will commence at the Bonaparte Copper-Gold site nearly 50 kilometres north of Kamloops once permits are in place and weather conditions allow.

The company based out of Stewart, B.C. acquired the rights to earn an 80 per cent undivided interest in three mineral claims at the near 2,970-hectare piece of land. The optionor of the property was described as an arms-length party to Decade in a news release issued in October 2025.

“The Bonaparte Gold project is an exciting property located in an area well accessed by a network of logging roads,” Decade President Ed Kruchkowski said in a news release issued Tuesday. “The underlying [induced polarization (IP)] anomaly presents a compelling target, and this first drill hole will not only test a wider area for gold bearing veins but also test to depth. In addition, the presence of historical copper and gold soil geochemical results extending to the southeast from the ‘Discovery Zone’ approximately [one kilometres] away are also above indicated IP anomalies.”
