One person dead after vehicle goes off embankment west of Cache Creek Sunday

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — One person is dead after a vehicle went off an embankment and into the water west of Cache Creek.
Just before 10:30 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 1), Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) says its rope rescue and ice rescue teams were tasked by the RCMP to respond to Hat Creek.
Upon arrival, KSAR says the driver was found deceased, while the vehicle was secured and subsequently winched out of the creek and back on the roadway.
In a post to social media Monday, KSAR says the investigation was turned over to the BC Coroners Service.
