Source: Roughriders agree to contract extension with receiver Johnson
REGINA — KeeSean Johnson is staying put.
According to a CFL source, the American receiver has agreed to a contract extension with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity as the Riders haven’t announced the move.
Johnson, 29, had 89 catches for 1,159 yards and four TDs for the Grey Cup champions last season, earning CFL all-star honours. He was slated to become a free agent next month.
The Riders also released American receiver Shawn Bane Jr. while signing Canadian defensive back Kerfalla Exumé to a extension. Bane Jr. was scheduled to become a free agent Feb. 10.
