‘Dirty Dancing’ Sequel With Jennifer Grey Finally Moving Forward

Jennifer Grey will reprise her iconic role as Frances “Baby” Houseman in an upcoming Dirty Dancing sequel. The 65-year-old actress said the role “has held a very deep and meaningful place in my heart” and that she has “long wondered where we might find Baby years later.” Production begins later this year with Hunger Games producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson leading the project. Grey previously told People the sequel won’t attempt to recreate her chemistry with late co-star Patrick Swayze, who died in 2009, emphasizing they’ll pursue something different rather than repeat past magic.
