Sphere Entertainment will build a second venue at National Harbor in Maryland near Washington D.C., following their Las Vegas landmark. The new facility will seat 6,000 people, significantly smaller than the 18,600-capacity Las Vegas Sphere, marking the company’s first “smaller-scale” design. The project receives approximately $200 million in state, local, and private incentives through partnerships with Maryland, Prince George’s County, and Peterson Companies. The venue will feature the signature “Exosphere” exterior and “the world’s highest-resolution LED screen” inside. “Our focus has always been on creating a global network of Spheres across forward-looking cities,” said James Dolan, This represents the third planned Sphere venue, joining Las Vegas and another under construction in Abu Dhabi.
