Applications open as Kamloops plans for 2026 edition of Music in the Park

KAMLOOPS — It might be the middle of January, but the City of Kamloops is already preparing for the next edition of its free summer concert series, Music in the Park.

The city is once again seeking applications from performers and mobile food vendors interested in being a part of the event, which is held every day at Riverside Park in July and August.

“For more than three decades, this iconic event has been a cherished summer tradition, drawing thousands of residents and visitors to Riverside Park to enjoy warm evenings, community spirit, and exceptional entertainment,” a statement from the City of Kamloops said.

“Music in the Park offers residents and tourists an opportunity to enjoy a wide array of musical talent.”

The city is looking for performers that cover a wide range of genres in a bid to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy. Food vendors are required to have an approved business licence and mobile vendor status.

The city notes a designated food vendor area with electrical hookups and seating has been added as part of the new outdoor skating rink, which began operations on Wednesday (Jan. 7). That space, near the Riverside Park pier, will be transformed into a designated food truck zone in the summer months.
