Trans-Canada to close east of Revelstoke for avalanche control work Saturday
REVELSTOKE, B.C. — (UPDATE Jan. 10): The Trans-Canada Highway will be temporarily closed east of Revelstoke this Saturday (Jan. 10) morning for avalanche control work.
According to DriveBC, the closure between Revelstoke and Glacier National Park is now expected to last until 2:00 p.m. this afternoon, instead of 12:30 p.m. as previously envisioned.
The closure will be in effect for a 21 km stretch of Highway 1 between Woolsey Creek Bridge and Hemlock Grove Boardwalk.
This is the latest in a series of closures for avalanche control work in the Rogers Pass area and drivers are being warned that there is no detour available.
