Mickey Rourke denies involvement in GoFundMe page
Mickey Rourke denied any involvement in the GoFundMe page created to help him avoid eviction, telling followers in an Instagram video to take back their donations. “If I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no fu-king charity. I’d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger,” the 73-year-old Rourke stated. The campaign, organized by Rourke’s manager, Kimberley Hines, surpassed its $100,000 goal after Rourke received an eviction notice in December for $60,000 in unpaid rent. “Mickey was cool with getting help the other day. And now Mickey’s like, ‘I’m not taking charity,’” Hines told the Hollywood Reporter. She revealed Rourke’s former home had black mold and no running water, making it uninhabitable. He’s currently living in a West Hollywood hotel and has secured a Koreatown apartment. On the bright side, the fundraiser has generated four new movie offers for Rourke, according to Hines.
