Taylor Swift‘s “The Fate of Ophelia” claims its ninth week atop the Billboard Hot 100, making it her longest-running number one hit as it surpasses the eight-week reign of “Anti-Hero” in 2022. The lead single from the chart-topping album, The Life of a Showgirl, jumped back to the summit from No. 28 as holiday songs dropped from the top chart positions, one week after setting a record by claiming the top 24 positions on the tally. During the tracking week of December 26 through January 1, “The Fate of Ophelia” generated 18.3 million streams, 60.7 million radio audience impressions, and sold 30,000 copies in the United States.

Swift now holds eight Hot 100 No. 1s that have ruled for a total of 27 weeks in the 2020s, both decade-leading records. Swift’s 13 career No. 1 hits tie her for fourth-most in Hot 100 history, with her 45 total weeks spent at No. 1 ranking eighth all-time. “The Fate of Ophelia” also gives Swift chart-toppers spanning 11 different years from 2012 through 2026.

Other notable moves this week include Ella Langley scoring her first ever Hot 100 Top 10 hit, as “Choosin’ Texas” vaults 43 spots to reach No. 5, while also leading the Hot Country Songs chart for a sixth week. The rest of the Top 10 is rounded out by HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” from KPop Demon Hunters, soaring 26 spots to claim No. 2, followed by Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” reentering the chart at No. 3, while Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” jumps 32 spots to reclaim its No. 4 high. Kehlani’s “Folded” rises 45 places to reach a new high of No. 6, while Sombr’s “Back to Friends” surges 45 slots to claim a new best of No. 7, as Swift’s “Opalite” jumps 46 spots to reach No. 8. Two other songs reenter the Hot 100 chart this week, as Leon Thomas’ “Mutt,” reaches No. 9, and Justin Bieber’s “Daisies” claims No. 10 after previously peaking at No. 2. (Billboard)
