Kamloops crews working to tackle side streets and locals
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops got treated to a white Christmas this year, with snow coming down before and after the big day.
But as families sat inside, the city of Kamloops was out working to clear the streets, sidewalks and bus stops of snow and ice. The main arterial roads and connectors throughout the city are mostly down to bare pavement, but work remains on residential side streets.
“We do have crews on that work right through,” said Joe Luison, the City of Kamloops’ civic operations assistant director and public works divisional manager. “Side roads and locals is where they are at right now trying to focus. With the cold weather of course you don’t get a lot of melt on those, so it goes to compact. we do have a warming trend coming in in the upcoming days, which will definitely help out.”
