DAVOS, SUI. — Kamloops native Joe Hicketts picked up an assist but Team Canada lost 4-1 to HC Davos at the Spengler Cup in the final round-robin game Sunday (Dec. 28).

The defeat, coupled with other results in the group, means Canada finished in third place, while hosts Davos were second.

The U.S. Collegiate Selects, who Canada beat 3-2 their opening game on Boxing Day, topped the group as they beat Davos 5-3 on Saturday.

Canada will now face Sparta Praha in a quarterfinal game Monday, with the puck drop set for just after 6:00 a.m. B.C. time. The winner of that quarterfinal will face the U.S.-based team in Tuesday’s semi final.
