CHERRY CREEK, B.C. — Charges are expected after RCMP found a stolen truck, and a loaded sawed-off shotgun in a vehicle stop in Cherry Creek earlier this month.

In a release issued Wednesday (Dec. 24) by Tk’emlúps RCMP, police say around 1 p.m. on December 12, they found a vehicle that was believed to have fled from officers the day before near Buckhorn Road.

A man and a woman were found sleeping in the truck, and police also saw a prohibited firearm beside the driver. Both people in the truck were arrested. Along with the stolen truck, and sawed-off shotgun, an ATV, generator, chainsaw, water pump, and other items were discovered, with an estimated total worth of more than $15,000.

RCMP say charge recommendations were forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service.
