Abduction report from Dallas neighbourhood leads to one arrest: Kamloops RCMP

Dec 23, 2025 | 11:08 AM

KAMLOOPS — While one abduction report that triggered a police chase on the North Shore was found to be non-credible, Kamloops RCMP made an arrest to a similar incident on Monday (Dec. 22).

At around noon Monday, Kamloops RCMP say police received a report of a possible abduction in the Dallas neighbourhood where a woman was seen being forced into a vehicle by a man.

From there, police say the vehicle drove east and was eventually located at a gas station on the 1200-block of Dallas Drive. The man was arrested without incident, and the woman was found safe.

“This was a swift response to a serious report of a person being abducted,” Kamloops RCMP Supt. Jeff Pelley says. “This took significant coordination with many support units assisting in a dynamic unfolding event to bring this to a safe conclusion.”

In a news release issued Tuesday (Dec. 23) morning, RCMP note that a heavy police presence could be seen throughout Kamloops and the surrounding area over several hours Monday.

Along with the South East District Emergency Response Team being visible near the 700-block of Seymour Street in downtown Kamloops, police air RCMP Air Services and several Kamloops RCMP support units responded to the abduction report.

Kamloops RCMP say the man was arrested and held in custody with charge recommendations anticipated.  Police say no further information will be provided as the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the reported abduction attempt, or has information related to it, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
