100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — A freezing rain warning is in effect for the 100 Mile region.

Starting Wednesday (Dec. 3) night and continuing until Thursday morning, Environment Canada says periods of snow mixed with freezing rain are expected for the Chilcotin and 100 Mile regions and Highway 97 from Clinton to Lac La Hache.

The weather agency says it’s due to a Pacific frontal system moving towards the Interior.

“Associated warm and moist air will push over cold air trapped near the surface,” Environment Canada states. “The precipitation will taper off overnight. Exact accumulation is uncertain at this time, but localized amounts of two millimetres of ice accretion is likely.”
