WolfPack women beat UFV for first time since 2015; men’s losing streak reaches four
ABBOTSFORD — The TRU WolfPack women’s basketball team is enjoying a bit of a renaissance for the first time in five years as they’ve picked up their fourth win of this Canada West season.
The WolfPack scored 22 unanswered points in the third quarter to beat the University of the Fraser Valley 60-50 Saturday (Nov. 29) night in Abbotsford, their first win over the Cascades since 2015.
Olena Vasylenko scored a game-high 15 points and added nine assists and six steals, while Morgan Eichenberger recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 18 rebounds to go with five steals.
Kylee Koppes (nine points), Sydney Vollrath and Micah Ramsay (eight each) and Hailey Merrigan (six) rounded out the scoring for TRU, which ended a 24-game losing streak against the Cascades.
