Police say 34-year-old Derrick Ryde was last seen on Feb. 28, 2025, while living on his uncle’s property in Salmon Arm. He was reported missing one month later on March 25.

In an update Tuesday (Nov. 18), RCMP say an extensive search of area where Ryde was last known to be was carried out by police, Search and Rescue and volunteers around Grandview Bench and Edgar Road.

“Derrick is an avid outdoorsman, and it was not uncommon for him to camp off grid for one to two weeks at a time,” RCMP say.

Ryde is described as standing 6’5” and weighing 160 lbs. He has blonde hair, dark blue eyes and a tattoo of a pair of red dice on his chest. Police say he usually wears Carhartt clothing, a blue long sleeve shirt, a black leather jacket and aviator glasses.
