Ruedig scores twice but Blazers fall to Cougars for third loss in a row

PRINCE GEORGE — Kayd Ruedig scored twice but the Kamloops Blazers could not mount a third comeback as they fell 3-2 to the Prince George Cougars at the CN Centre Friday (Nov. 14) night.

The Cougars took the lead on three occasions last night – though Cole Hajt at 3:18 of the first period, Terik Parascak at 15:07 of the first, and Aiden Foster at 14:18 of the second period.

Ruedig scored his goals at 13:51 of the first to make it a 1-1 affair, while his second was scored on the power play just 28 seconds in the second period. Both of Ruedig’s goals were shots from distance that beat Joshua Ravensbergen in the Cougars’ net.

Blazers netminder Logan Edmonstone stopped 25 of 28 shots to pick up the loss while Ravensbergen stopped 21 of 23 to pick up the win.

It’s now three losses in a row for the 8-9-2-2 Blazers who sit seventh in the Western Conference will 20 points from 21 games. Prince George meanwhile has improved to 14-7 and they remain in second place in the Western Conference.

The Blazers are back home this evening to host the Lethbridge Hurricanes, with puck drop from Sandman Centre scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
