June 2026 trial date set for Kamloops man accused of killing his mother in 2023

KAMLOOPS — A trial date has been set for a Kamloops man charged in the 2023 killing of his mother.

Jo-Anne Donovan, 57, was reported missing on March 13, 2023. Her son, Brandon Donovan, appealed publicly for tips to help find her, including in an interview aired on CFJC TV.

Ten days after her disappearance, Jo-Anne Donovan’s body was found not far from her Westsyde home.

Brandon Donovan was eventually charged with second-degree murder in his mother’s death.

In BC Supreme Court Monday (Nov. 10), a date to begin the jury trial was set for June 8, 2026. Defence and prosecution will meet in court again on January 19, 2026, to confirm that trial date.
