100 Mile House RCMP searching for two suspects impersonating police officers

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP in 100 Mile House are looking for two suspects who impersonated police officers.

At around 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 31, RCMP say they received a report from a person walking through Blackstock Road in 100 Mile House where a dark grey SUV stopped near them. Two men reportedly exited the vehicle and approached the person, saying they were police officers, and didn’t allow the person to leave.

The men reportedly left and drove toward Horse Lake Road a few minutes later.

RCMP unveiled a composite sketch of one of the suspects in a news release issued Thursday (Nov. 6). The first suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 30 and 40, standing 5’8” or 5’9”, with a bulky build and greyish beard. He was seen wearing a black hoodie with a black baseball cap.

The second suspect is described as a Southeast Asian man in his 20s with a slight beard. He was also wearing a black hoodie and a black hat. A sketch was not provided.

RCMP say no similar reports were received from the area and they believe the impersonating officers approaching the person is an isolated incident.

Anyone with surveillance or dash cam video in the Blackstock Road area on Oct. 31 is asked to contact 100 Mile House RCMP at (250) 395-2456.
